Omani footwear label Luvashk showcased its latest Polka Dot Collection during Paris Fashion Week this October, unveiling a fresh interpretation of its popular ballerina heels adorned with lace and Swarovski crystals. The collection was presented alongside designs from Los Angeles-based brand Songs of Siren and featured collaborations with MLCS-Boutique and Sasha Donnellan.

Founded in 2020 by Laila Fadhil, who also serves as the brand’s creative director, Luvashk is known for merging elegance with playful, unexpected details. Fadhil, raised in Salalah, Oman, described Paris as an enduring symbol of elegance, romance, femininity, and lightheartedness—qualities she sought to reflect in the new collection. The shoes are designed in Oman and manufactured in Italy.

The brand name Luvashk combines the English playful spelling of “luv” with “ashk,” a word for passionate love found in Arabic and Persian. Fadhil explained that the label aims to convey a message of love from Oman to the wider world. Each collection draws inspiration from distinct locations, with earlier designs paying homage to Fadhil’s hometown Salalah and other urban influences such as New York.

Looking ahead, Fadhil intends to expand her offerings with a dedicated collection inspired by her hometown, drawing from its seasonal greenery, proximity to the Arabian Sea, traditional fabrics, and cultural heritage. She highlighted that about 90 percent of Luvashk’s customer base resides outside Oman, noting a particular appreciation among Arab women for statement pieces featuring intricate details suited for special occasions and celebrations.

In recognition of her work in fashion design, Fadhil was named Entrepreneur of the Year at The Origin 2026 awards. Beyond fashion, Luvashk is involved in philanthropic efforts with Dar Al Atta’a, supporting heart disease patients—a personal cause for Fadhil following the loss of her father to heart disease.
