Additionally, he participated in various Gulf sports media initiatives, further broadening his impact across the region.

Throughout his career, Al Barhi’s work earned considerable recognition. He was voted the best writer covering the Omani League for the 2009–2010 season in a poll conducted by the Kooora Oman forum. He also received accolades as the best journalist covering the 24th Sultan’s Armed Forces Football League in 2018.

In recent months, Al Barhi remained actively engaged in Omani football, joining the official media delegation accompanying the national team at the most recent Gulf Cup. One of his final public posts, shared on August 14, 2026, was a tribute to former Oman national team goalkeeper Fayez al Rushaidi, praising his accomplishments and expressing gratitude for the memorable moments he brought to fans.
