The 5th Sailing Week and the 3rd Arab Women’s Sailing Championship concluded with Omani competitors securing four gold medals amid strong international participation. The event, which took place in Oman, brought together more than 100 sailors from various countries, competing across multiple classes including Optimist, Hansa, and disabled sailing categories.

The closing ceremony was held under the patronage of Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah bin Zahir Al-Hunaihi and Dr. Khamis bin Samil Al-Jabri, highlighting the event’s significance within the region. Oman's continued dedication to developing the sport was evident through the annual nature of the competition and complementary training programs aimed at nurturing local sailors while fostering international competitiveness.

In addition to fostering athletic achievement, the event emphasized environmental sustainability in line with Oman’s Vision 2040 goals. Organizers promoted clean marine sports practices and initiatives to reduce the use of single-use plastics, reflecting a broader national commitment to preserving marine environments.

The championships’ success further reinforces Oman’s growing role in regional sailing, supporting increased representation of Arab women athletes in the sport and enhancing opportunities for sailors with disabilities. The combination of competitive excellence and environmental advocacy demonstrated a holistic approach to advancing sailing within the country and beyond.
