In Kuantan, Pahang, homeowner Izudin Muhamad Amin has transformed the concrete roof of his residence into a flourishing pineapple garden. The 49-year-old began the project in 2021, shortly after moving into his housing estate, with the aim of maximising available space for cultivation. Initially planting 100 MD2-variety pineapple seedlings, Izudin has since expanded the garden to 300 plants this year.

Drawing on a lifelong interest in agriculture, Izudin recognised the potential of the unused rooftop area amid limited land availability. “Rather than leaving it empty, I thought it would be better to turn it into a garden,” he said. His efforts paid off approximately one year after planting when he harvested his first crop, which he shared predominantly with friends and neighbors.

The rooftop pineapple garden not only utilises urban space innovatively but also reflects a broader trend of urban agriculture initiatives seeking to optimise living environments. Izudin’s approach highlights the potential for small-scale home-based farming, particularly in areas where land for traditional gardening is scarce.

Separately, in Kuala Lumpur, singer Emma Suhaimi has made a notable return to the entertainment industry following a 16-year hiatus. At 37, she recently launched a new single titled "Tersakiti," marking her comeback with a visibly transformed appearance and renewed confidence.

Emma, who is the elder sister of singer Adira Suhaimi, attributed her transformation to a dedicated regimen beginning in late March. She aimed to reach an ideal weight of 52 kilograms by adopting a diet focused on protein consumption at breakfast alongside regular physical exercise. Over six months, she lost 16 kilograms.
