Ooredoo has been named the official sponsor of We Run Doha, a new community running event held in partnership with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). Scheduled for October 30, 2026, the event will take place at the Lusail International Circuit, the venue known for hosting the Qatar Grand Prix.
We Run Doha is part of the globally recognized PSG Run series, designed to bring together families, youth athletes, corporate teams, and experienced runners. The event offers races suited to different age groups and fitness levels, including a 1-kilometer race for children and 5-kilometer and 10-kilometer races for adults. Organizers anticipate around 2,000 participants to take part, highlighting the event's appeal both as a local community gathering and as a leg of an international running series.
Registration is currently open for all race categories via the official website. The opportunity to run on a world-class racing circuit adds a unique aspect to the event, aligning with Qatar’s efforts to promote sports and healthy lifestyles within the community.
Sabah Rabiah al-Kuwari, senior director of Marketing Communications at Ooredoo Qatar, emphasized the significance of the race in the lead-up to the Doha Marathon by Ooredoo in 2027. “We Run Doha plays an important role in supporting Qatar’s position as a home for world-class community sport,” al-Kuwari said, highlighting inclusion of a wide range of participants from grassroots to more competitive runners.
Fabien Dilem, general manager of PSG’s Middle East and India Regional Office, noted the event reflects the club’s broader ambition to engage with communities through sports. “Together with Ooredoo and our partners, we look forward to making this first edition a special celebration of running, football and the PSG spirit in Qatar,” Dilem stated.
This partnership underscores Ooredoo’s ongoing commitment to fostering sports in Qatar, continuing its support from grassroots programs to prominent events like the Doha Marathon by Ooredoo. We Run Doha marks another step in strengthening community participation in sport, while also enhancing Qatar’s growing profile as a host of international sporting events.
