Ooredoo has been honored with the Qatar Private Sector Nationalisation Award in the Information Technology and Digital Services category, highlighting its efforts to promote Qatari talent and support nationalisation within the private sector. The award was presented by the Ministry of Labour as part of its “Himmah” initiative, which aims to acknowledge organisations that contribute significantly to the development of Qatari workforce participation, economic competitiveness, and labour market sustainability.

The recognition underscores Ooredoo’s commitment to embedding Qatarisation into its core business strategy, emphasizing that it extends beyond mere recruitment targets. Sheikh Ali bin Jabor bin Mohammad al-Thani, chief executive of Ooredoo Qatar, described the achievement as validation that fostering Qatari talent is fundamental to the company’s growth and innovation.

Maryam Hassan al-Hajri, Ooredoo Qatar’s chief human resources officer, noted that the award reflects the company’s sustained efforts to attract, develop, and empower local employees. She emphasized that Ooredoo provides structured career pathways allowing Qataris to acquire hands-on experience, enhance their skills, and advance into leadership positions.
