The official highlighted attacks on public transportation and acts of vandalism, raising concerns over security and political motives behind recent unrest.

The official detailed that several buses were set ablaze in multiple neighborhoods including Madhya Badda, Uttara, Mirpur, and Kafrul. Incidents of fires aboard trains were also reported. Crude bomb explosions occurred in front of the High Court and near Dhaka University’s main gate, prompting the question of who was responsible for these acts.

Additionally, the official criticized the Jamaat-led 11-party alliance for its recent long march to Rangpur, questioning the use of fuel for the demonstration. He accused the student wing associated with the opposition of carrying out “unprecedented vandalism” at Rajshahi Railway Station late at night two days prior, characterizing the group as operating covertly. The official urged accountability, asking who would take responsibility for the destruction.

In a challenge to opposition parties, the official invited them to organize similar protests addressing issues such as rising commodity prices, extortion, and corruption but without resorting to what he described as orchestrated violence.

The government’s allegations come amid ongoing political tensions, with both sides trading accusations over protests and disruptions.
