OQ Group has committed RO 20 million to fund the construction of the main headquarters for the Youth Centre in Muscat Governorate, aiming to enhance skills development, innovation, and entrepreneurship among Omani youth. The funding agreement was signed during Omani Youth Day celebrations held under the auspices of HH Sayyid Bilarab bin Haitham al Said, Minister of State and Governor of Muscat.
The new Youth Centre will offer a comprehensive range of facilities, including business incubators, co-working spaces, innovation and fabrication labs, training halls, and creative studios. Its purpose is to equip young Omanis with commercially relevant skills and to support the transformation of their ideas into projects with economic and social impact.
Khalid bin Said al Shuaibi, Chairman of the Youth Centre, and Jassim bin Hassan al Ajmi, Vice-President for Sustainability and Communications at OQ Group, jointly signed the agreement. This funding aligns with OQ’s broader social investment strategy, which prioritizes education, skills development, economic prosperity, and community engagement.
Ashraf bin Hamad al Maamari, Group Chief Executive of OQ, emphasized that the contribution reflects the group’s dedication to national initiatives that deliver sustainable developmental benefits. He highlighted the centre’s role as a space where young people from across the Sultanate can learn, work, innovate, and exchange expertise. Partnerships with national institutions will assist in aligning youth skills development with Oman’s economic goals.
Khalid bin Said al Shuaibi stated that the project would enhance the infrastructure supporting the talents and initiatives of young Omanis, enabling them to acquire skills and contribute meaningfully to economic and social development. He underlined the centre’s alignment with the objectives outlined in Oman Vision 2040.
