Oregon quarterback Dante Moore will miss the remainder of the 2026 college football season, head coach Dan Lanning confirmed Monday night. Moore has been sidelined since late September after sustaining a concussion from a late hit during a game against Southern California. Although he resumed practicing earlier this month, Moore remains in the concussion protocol and is not expected to return to play. The senior had opted to continue his college career instead of entering the NFL draft, where he was projected as a potential top-10 pick.
In Indiana, head coach Curt Cignetti expressed confidence that quarterback Josh Hoover will deliver an improved performance in Saturday’s home game against Minnesota. Hoover, who played through a right arm injury in last weekend’s 13-6 victory at Michigan, was limited on the field, completing just eight of 18 passes for 81 yards, throwing no touchdowns and recording his first interception of the season. Despite his injury, Hoover scored the decisive touchdown on a four-yard run in overtime, helping Indiana secure its first win in Ann Arbor since 1967 and its first consecutive wins in the series since the late 1950s. “I expect him to be fine and better this week,” Cignetti said. The coach added that the passing game struggled in practice last week but anticipated improvement in preparation for Minnesota.
Mississippi running back Kewan Lacy will miss this week’s matchup against Auburn due to a dislocated shoulder. Coach Pete Golding reported that Lacy suffered the injury in the third quarter of the Rebels’ loss to Texas on Saturday. Lacy has faced recurring problems with his left shoulder, which had previously affected his performance despite rushing for 1,567 yards and 24 touchdowns in the 2025 season.
Meanwhile, No. 17 Florida may see the return of quarterback Aaron Philo for Saturday’s game at third-ranked Georgia in Atlanta. Philo, who missed Florida’s recent victory at then-No. 7 Texas on Oct. 17 due to a shoulder injury, participated in practice and shared first-team repetitions with backup Tramell Jones Jr. Head coach Jon Sumrall said he plans to monitor both quarterbacks’ progress throughout the week before finalizing a decision, which may not be made public.
