RIYADH — The organs of a six-year-old boy who was declared brain-dead in Buraidah were successfully transplanted to four patients, including two children, following family consent for donation. The procedures took place after the Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation confirmed brain death and coordinated with the Maternity and Children’s Hospital in Buraidah to retrieve the organs.

Medical teams transplanted the organs into four recipients suffering from organ failure, offering them a chance at improved health and extended lives. The retrieval and transplantation processes were conducted by specialized medical staff to ensure optimal outcomes for the recipients.

This case highlights ongoing efforts in Saudi Arabia to promote organ donation and address the needs of patients requiring lifesaving transplant procedures. The cooperation between the national organ transplantation authority and local health facilities exemplifies the coordinated approach taken to manage and facilitate organ donation and transplantation.
