Oura has introduced the Oura Ring 5, which the company describes as the world’s smallest smart ring. Manufactured from lightweight, hypoallergenic titanium, the new model is 40% smaller than its predecessor, aiming to provide a more comfortable and discreet option for users with smaller fingers.
Despite its reduced size, the Oura Ring 5 incorporates a suite of advanced features designed to monitor physical activity and health metrics. It tracks exercises such as running, cycling, and strength training while continuously measuring heart rate, sleep quality, and blood oxygen levels. The ring also includes Automatic Activity Detection, which begins logging workouts like walking and running without requiring manual input.
Enhancements to women’s health tracking are a notable aspect of the new device. The ring offers menopause-related insights based on variables including sleep patterns, mood, cognition, and daily functioning. Additionally, it provides temperature trend analysis to improve menstrual cycle understanding and deliver more accurate predictions of period timing.
The Oura Ring 5 is offered in six finishes, including deep rose, brushed silver, and gold, allowing users to choose styles that suit their preferences. It features a waterproof and scratch-resistant design and boasts a battery life of up to seven days on a single charge, supporting users active lifestyles.
Tom Hale, Chief Executive Officer of Oura, stated that the ring marks a significant step toward the company’s goal of enhancing personal health awareness. He emphasized that the smaller, more comfortable design combined with advanced software enables a broader audience to benefit from personalized and predictive health insights.
The Oura Ring 5 is available now in sizes six through thirteen, with prices starting at £399. It can be purchased through the company’s website.
