Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembele expressed confidence ahead of the upcoming UEFA Champions League final against Arsenal, emphasizing the team’s determination to retain the title they won last year. Speaking from Budapest, Dembele described the club’s mindset as having undergone a “reset” since their previous success, with the squad eager to repeat their achievement.
The 26-year-old French international highlighted the significance of the club’s first Champions League triumph and the desire to maintain momentum. “We always want to be playing a Champions League final at the end of May,” Dembele said. “We did it last year for the first time and we were all on cloud nine. It was a historical moment for everyone, but we’ve reset everything and we want to win trophies again.”
Dembele characterized the team as a young, ambitious group unwilling to become complacent. “It would be something historical and it would be so important. We’re in it to win it again and we believe that we can do it again,” he added, reaffirming the squad’s readiness to face Arsenal.
Concerns about Dembele’s fitness had surfaced in the lead-up to the final, but the reigning Ballon d’Or winner confirmed he is fully prepared for the challenge. “I am 100 per cent ready,” he stated. “I did have a little problem but we are ready now because I had 10 or 15 days to prepare and get myself in great shape again.”
PSG’s resilience and focus on repeating their recent success will be put to the test as they aim to secure consecutive Champions League titles in one of European football’s premier events. The final, taking place in Budapest, brings together two top clubs vying for continental glory.
