Oxford City secured a 2-0 victory over Dorchester Town at the Avenue Stadium on Saturday, with both goals coming in the second half. The Southern League South visitors managed to break through a resilient Dorchester defence, capitalizing on key opportunities after a goalless first period.

Ludwig Francillette opened the scoring by converting a corner delivered by Josh Ashby on his second attempt, following an initial save by Dorchester’s goalkeeper Ryan Hall. Shortly after, substitute Max Smith provided a precise low cross that allowed Ty Marsh to double Oxford City’s lead and put the match beyond Dorchester’s reach.

The first half saw several promising chances go unanswered by both teams. Hall denied Marsh an early effort, while Dorchester’s goalkeeper Jonny Maxted parried a shot from Matt Burrows. Dillon De Silva’s attempt from a right-wing cross narrowly missed the target. Both goalkeepers were active early in the second half as well, with Hall saving a low drive from Briar Bateman and then preventing a near-post finish from Kauan De Silva after Oxford’s second goal. Maxted made a notable save against Ollie Haste’s effort at the far post.

Despite pressure from Dorchester, Oxford City maintained control after the goals and secured the win. Captain Josh Ashby had a chance to extend the lead with a low free kick but directed it wide. The victory extends Oxford City’s positive run and adds strength to their campaign in Southern League South.
