Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has expressed enthusiasm about the demanding atmosphere at Celtic Park, describing it as the kind of challenge that motivates him to perform at his best. The former Arsenal and Liverpool midfielder, who joined Celtic on a short-term contract in February, contributed to the team securing a domestic double and has since signed on for a full season with the Glasgow club.

The 32-year-old, who has earned 35 caps for England, brings with him a wealth of experience, including a full set of major domestic trophies in England as well as a UEFA Champions League title. As Celtic prepare for their Scottish Premiership opener against Dundee, Oxlade-Chamberlain said the prospect of competing in a high-pressure environment was a key factor in his decision to stay.

“When the opportunity to come here came up, the fact that it was going to be a challenge, I really enjoyed that,” Oxlade-Chamberlain said. He emphasized his desire to provide experience and moments of quality to support his teammates, reflecting on the success the team achieved since his arrival as "dreamland stuff."

Oxlade-Chamberlain noted his familiarity with teams carrying high expectations to win trophies, while also acknowledging the competitive nature of the leagues in which he has played. “I’m fortunate enough to have been in teams where there is an expectation to win but also, at the same time, the reality is there’s a lot of really, really good teams that make it really hard to win. I thrive in that pressure cooker,” he remarked.

His comments underline both his ambition to add further honours to his career and his readiness to embrace the challenges that come with playing for Celtic.
