Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership during an awards ceremony held Saturday at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai. Naidu described Modi as the “right leader” at the “right time,” acknowledging the prime minister’s role in steering the country forward.
At the event, which convened prominent figures from both business and policy sectors, Naidu also outlined his vision for future development models. He emphasized moving beyond traditional public-private partnerships (PPP) to a “P4” framework, which incorporates the public, private, and people sectors working collaboratively.
Naidu, who received the Business Reformer of the Year Award, reflected on his earlier efforts to advance the power sector in Andhra Pradesh. He noted that reforms initiated in the late 1990s helped the state achieve an electricity surplus by 2004, prior to its bifurcation. Despite the Telugu Desam Party’s electoral loss that year, Naidu asserted that the country as a whole benefited from the momentum generated in the power sector.
Addressing the ongoing crisis in West Asia and its implications, Naidu stated that Andhra Pradesh is actively working on solutions to mitigate the challenges. He underscored the importance of maintaining and supporting consumption to withstand external shocks.
Highlighting the state’s developmental ambitions, Naidu described Amaravati as a “future city” focused on green energy and net-zero initiatives. He invited individuals seeking improved quality of life and longevity to consider settling in the capital region, which aims to exemplify sustainable urban planning.
