Padiham and Stalybridge Town played to a 1-1 draw in a closely contested match. The game took place on Sunday, with both sides showing strong determination throughout.

Padiham opened the scoring in the 27th minute when Jack Price delivered a well-placed shot past Stalybridge goalkeeper Charlie Monks. The home side looked to build on their lead, but Stalybridge responded with increased pressure.

One of Stalybridge’s best opportunities came when Mike Koral made a penetrating run into Padiham’s penalty area. He managed to pull the ball back for teammates, but both attempts were thwarted as the players fell under pressure, missing the chance to equalize.

As the match progressed, Stalybridge continued to seek an equalizer. Jack Irlam headed a delivery into a dangerous area, forcing Padiham goalkeeper Harry Grimshaw to scramble the ball away for a corner. However, Grimshaw was unable to prevent the visitors from levelising just before halftime. Andy Scarisbrick capitalized on a rebound after Liam Tounge’s powerful 35-yard shot struck the crossbar.

The second half saw both teams battling hard for a winner but neither were able to find a breakthrough. The match ended in a draw, reflecting the evenly matched nature of the contest.
