Authorities in Kuwait have shut down a restaurant and a food storage facility in the Salmiya area following multiple health violations, the Ministry of Interior announced. The closure resulted from a joint operation involving the General Department of Criminal Investigation, the Hawally Investigation Department, the Salmiya Investigation Office, and the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition (PAFN).

The action stemmed from reports indicating that food products were being stored under unsanitary conditions and subsequently served to customers. An official statement from the Ministry of Interior said that upon verification, investigators and PAFN inspectors conducted an inspection of the sites and uncovered several breaches of health regulations.

Among the violations found, the restaurant was reportedly operating despite a prior closure order issued by PAFN. Inspectors also found that the establishment was functioning without a valid health license, was using space beyond the licensed premises, and failed to meet technical and sanitary standards. Additionally, food products of unknown composition were being handled and served, raising concerns about food safety and quality.

The ministry emphasized that the operation is part of ongoing efforts to protect public health and tackle illicit activities related to food safety. Authorities have reiterated their commitment to enforcing regulatory standards and have warned that further violations will be met with strict legal measures.
