The Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) has awarded three contracts totaling 29.9 million Kuwaiti dinars (approximately $98.7 million) for infrastructure development in Al-Mutlaa Residential City and the Affordable Housing Project. The agreements, announced on Tuesday, are intended to advance the construction of essential services and road networks, supporting the expansion of newly developed housing areas.

Rashid Al-Enezi, acting director general of PAHW, stated that the contracts are designed to enhance major roads and electrical infrastructure to improve service delivery and accommodate urban growth. Two of the projects focus on infrastructure works within Al-Mutlaa Residential City, including road construction, asphalt layer completion, and associated elements such as sidewalks, pedestrian paths, kerbstones, and road-level planning.

The first contract covers suburbs N9, N10, and N11 with a value of 9.67 million dinars (about $31.9 million). The second contract, valued at 9.74 million dinars (around $32.1 million), addresses suburbs N6, N7, and N8. Both projects are expected to be completed within 730 days.

The third contract, valued at 10.49 million dinars (approximately $34.6 million), pertains to the Affordable Housing Project and involves the supply, installation, and maintenance of three main electrical substations operating at 132/11 kV. These substations will serve sites MS-05, MS-06, and MS-07 and share the same two-year implementation timeline as the other contracts.

Al-Enezi emphasized that these projects align with PAHW’s strategic plan to meet approved development schedules for new residential areas, ensuring timely provision of infrastructure and public services. He also noted that the contracts support national housing and development goals by expediting the completion of critical infrastructure and fostering integrated communities designed to accommodate future demographic and urban expansion.
