The third edition of the Hamba Pakistani Mango Exhibition and Its Products concluded on July 20 at Souq Waqif in Qatar, attracting more than 84,000 visitors and recording sales exceeding 174 tonnes of Pakistani mangoes. The event underscored its growing reputation as one of the country’s premier seasonal food gatherings.

Organized by the Celebrations Committee of the Private Engineering Office in collaboration with the Embassy of Pakistan in Qatar, the exhibition transformed Souq Waqif’s Eastern Square into a vibrant showcase of Pakistan’s famous mango varieties and mango-based products. The event offered attendees a multifaceted experience combining retail, tasting, and culinary exploration.

More than 30 Pakistani and local companies took part alongside over 30 restaurants and food producers, presenting a broad array of dishes, desserts, juices, pickles, ice cream, and seasonal fruits sourced from Pakistan. Visitors had the opportunity to sample a selection of over 10 prominent Pakistani mango varieties, including Sindhri, Chaunsa, White Chaunsa, Anwar Ratol, and Dussehri. Additionally, innovative mango-inspired items highlighted the diversity of Pakistani cuisine throughout the exhibition.

To maintain food safety and product quality, organizers established an onsite laboratory in partnership with Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health, Ministry of Municipality, and a commercial laboratory. These facilities conducted inspections and quality testing during the event to ensure standards were met.

Despite logistical challenges related to regional conditions that affected the arrival of some mango shipments, the organizing committee closely coordinated with the Embassy of Pakistan and relevant stakeholders to guarantee a continuous supply of premium-quality mangoes throughout the exhibition.

General Supervisor Khalid Saif al-Suwaidi remarked that the latest edition built on the previous successes of the festival, further cementing its status as a key event at Souq Waqif. He highlighted the role of the ongoing partnership with the Pakistani embassy in facilitating wide participation from companies and restaurants, enabling visitors to experience top mango varieties and creative culinary products reflective of Pakistan’s rich food heritage.

Al-Suwaidi also emphasized the importance of collaboration among organizers and partners in overcoming supply challenges caused by regional developments. He noted that the event’s strong visitor turnout and significant mango sales affirmed its standing as an important platform for promoting Pakistani mangoes and related products in Qatar.

In closing, Al-Suwaidi extended gratitude to the Embassy of Pakistan, government and private sector collaborators, media outlets, and all teams involved. He also acknowledged the public’s enthusiastic support, attributing the exhibition’s success to the collective efforts and coordinated cooperation of all participants.
