Former Singaporean actress and host Sharon Au is shifting her focus toward new creative opportunities in Seoul as she embarks on the next phase of her career, nearly eight years after relocating from Singapore to Paris. The 51-year-old shared images from a recent photo shoot with South Korean fashion brand L’H.A.S. on September 24, signaling the start of an evolving chapter in her life.

In an interview, Au explained that while Paris continues to be her primary residence, increasing work commitments are drawing her to spend more time in Seoul. “Seoul seems increasingly determined to keep me coming back,” she remarked, though she did not disclose specific details about her projects in the South Korean capital.

Au’s recent involvement includes being featured in L’H.A.S. Impactor’s editorial series, which highlights individuals influencing various creative fields. She attributes her ventures across media, publishing, and fashion to a deep-rooted curiosity.

Her career journey has seen several transformations. After initially establishing a presence in entertainment, Au took a hiatus in 2005 to pursue her undergraduate studies at Waseda University in Tokyo. She transitioned to Paris in 2018 and worked as an investment director in private equity until 2022, when she left the financial sector.

Au made a return to acting with her role in "Cen·odal" (2025), a short film that debuted at the 36th Singapore International Film Festival. In the film, she portrays an interior designer revisiting Singapore and reflecting on changes experienced personally and within the city. The film is directed by Chinese actor-turned-filmmaker Qi Yuwu.

Through her social media posts, Au has conveyed her enthusiasm for embracing the unknown and the opportunity to start anew. She described the experience in Seoul as a chance to be a beginner again — learning a new language, adapting to a different culture, and opening herself to discovery. In one post, she wrote about the freedom found in making mistakes and exploring unfamiliar paths, underscoring a willingness to continue evolving despite the risks involved.

On September 27, Au further elaborated on her motivations, emphasizing the importance of personal growth and the inspiration drawn from people, art, and new experiences. She stated that while influences may spark ideas or open doors, the responsibility for shaping her narrative remains hers. She expressed her intention to pursue many more transformative and memorable experiences in the years ahead.
