Angelos Ntolakai, 23, has been sentenced to five years and seven months in prison for raping a teenage girl who was asleep at a Halloween party in Ramsgate, Kent, in 2022. Following his conviction at Canterbury Crown Court, Ntolakai was also placed on the sex offender register for life.

The victim had fallen asleep in a friend’s bed during the party when Ntolakai forcibly held her down and assaulted her. DNA samples collected from all the men present at the event linked Ntolakai to the crime, providing critical forensic evidence that contributed to the conviction.

Ntolakai denied the offence during the trial, claiming he understood the concept of consent. However, the jury found him unanimously guilty of rape.

Detective Constable Chris Harvey, who led the investigation, highlighted the importance of the DNA and forensic evidence in securing the conviction. He expressed hope that the sentence would offer the victim and her family some measure of justice and closure.
