Knellwood Care Home in Farnborough, Hampshire, recently celebrated the 100th birthdays of five of its residents. The milestone event honored Dorothy, Margaret Cosh, and Margaret McBain, all of whom reached their 100th year. They were joined by fellow centenarians Mollie, who turned 101, and Aida, aged 102, alongside friends and family members.
The care home marked the occasion with a special cake and gathered residents and staff to commemorate the rare milestone. Margaret McBain attributed her longevity to her Welsh heritage, sharing the sentiment, “Laugh and the world laughs with you. Cry and you cry alone.”
Staff member Tracey Slingo described the presence of five centenarians living at the facility as “amazing,” highlighting the uncommon nature of having multiple residents reach such advanced ages under one roof. The event underscored both the community’s commitment to care and the vitality of its older residents.
