Perched atop 30 Hudson Yards on the 101st floor, PEAK has emerged as a notable dining destination offering sweeping views of New York City alongside a modern-American menu. Originally launched by London-based Rhubarb Hospitality just prior to the pandemic, the restaurant struggled to establish itself until management was assumed by Tao Group last fall. After undergoing a careful redesign, the venue reopened as Peak With Priceless at the end of May.
The restaurant’s expansive floor-to-ceiling windows provide an unobstructed panorama of the city skyline, outmatching the narrower views once offered by Windows on the World, the iconic but now-defunct restaurant at the World Trade Center. Though many remember the festive atmosphere Windows on the World cultivated before its destruction in 2001, PEAK’s larger windows, prime location, and quality cuisine position it as a compelling successor for those seeking elevated dining experiences in Manhattan. Guests also benefit from complimentary access to the Edge observation deck located on the 100th floor, which typically charges $42 per person for non-dining visitors.
Tao Group’s chief culinary officer, Ralph Scamardella, oversees a menu that includes both à la carte and prix fixe options, with appetizers ranging from $24 to $37, entrees from $38 to $95, and desserts priced between $18 and $27. Reservations for window tables are exclusively available with three-course prix fixe offerings, set at $95 for lunch and $145 for dinner. Among the highlighted dishes are a delicately steamed black sea bass served in a broth of fresh tomato water, olives, oregano, and fermented chili, a tender Maine lobster preparation accompanied by sautéed spinach, and a seared center-cut filet au poivre garnished with cracked peppercorns, herb butter, and mushroom duxelles—all cooked to precise specifications.
The dessert menu features the “Skyline,” a hazelnut mousse blended with salted caramel and finished with a dark chocolate coating shaped like a pyramid, which has attracted particular acclaim.
Beyond its culinary offerings, PEAK provides patrons with immersive experiences designed to complement the cityscape. Edge recently debuted seven interactive light displays that create dynamic visual effects on the observation floor. One such installation, “Reflections,” employs 200 mirrored surfaces that appear to move in response to visitors’ movements, enhancing the overall atmosphere.
Situated alongside Avenue Sky Lounge, a revived nightlife venue known for hosting recent events including a New York Knicks victory celebration, PEAK offers a vibrant, festive environment. The combination of exceptional views, refined cuisine, and engaging experiences makes it a significant addition to New York’s dining scene.
