A Perth pediatrician has been charged with an expanded range of child sexual abuse offenses after police identified additional alleged victims. Dr. Chia Liang Saw, 41, from Wembley, was initially charged in May and has been held on remand at Hakea Prison.

Authorities have now filed 31 new charges following claims from nine more children, bringing the total number of charges against Dr. Saw to 33. The new allegations include seven counts of indecent dealings with a child under 13, seven counts of producing child exploitation material, and six counts of indecent dealings with a child aged between 13 and 16. Additional charges involve five counts of indecently recording a child under 16, four counts of indecently recording a child under 13, as well as one count each of sexual penetration of a child aged 13 to 16 and an intent to procure a person believed to be under 16 for sexual activity.

Previously, Dr. Saw faced charges including one count of sexual conduct with a child and one count of possessing child exploitation material. The allegations stem from incidents reportedly occurring between 2023 and 2026 across several locations, including Nedlands, Wembley, Midland, and West Leederville.

Dr. Saw was scheduled to appear at Perth Magistrates Court for a bail application following the initial charges. The police investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to gather evidence and statements related to the case.
