Perak secured the Razak Cup title on Sunday by defeating defending champions Terengganu 2-1 at the Pandamaran Hockey Stadium in Klang, ending Terengganu’s bid for a third consecutive championship. The victory marks Perak’s 14th Razak Cup win since the tournament began in 1963, and their first since 2022.

Mohd Amirul Haniff Mamat played a pivotal role for Perak, scoring both goals in the 11th and 43rd minutes, while Terengganu's sole goal was netted by Mohd Firhan Ashari in the closing stages of the match.

Perak’s head coach, Manjit Singh, highlighted the challenges his team faced leading up to the tournament, noting limited preparation time. Despite this, he expressed pride in the squad’s performance, pointing out the blend of youth and experience within the team. Five players recently competed in the Malaysia Games (Sukma), while 13 others brought extensive experience to the lineup.

To prepare for the final, Perak undertook detailed video analysis of Terengganu’s gameplay. Singh also credited the senior players for motivating their younger teammates, many of whom were making their Razak Cup debut. He expressed optimism about maintaining the team’s momentum in future competitions.

Terengganu, having won the two previous editions, were aiming to make it a three-peat but were ultimately unable to overcome Perak’s balanced lineup and strategic execution.
