Tan Chong Motor Assemblies Sdn Bhd (TCMA) has signed a master agreement with Perodua Sales Sdn Bhd (PSSB) to support Perodua’s battery electric vehicle (EV) project in Serendah. The arrangement, announced in a filing to Bursa Malaysia by Tan Chong Motor Holdings Bhd, outlines the terms for TCMA to provide electro-deposition (ED) coating and painting line services, as well as to lease assembly lines and offer associated services to PSSB.

The initial term of the agreement will span three years starting June 1, 2026, with an option allowing PSSB to extend the contract for an additional two years. The extension must be exercised no later than six months prior to the end of the initial period.

Under the terms, TCMA will deliver ED coating and painting line services and rent out the designated assembly line to PSSB. In return, PSSB will pay service fees and rental charges as agreed. The collaboration aims to facilitate Perodua’s entry into the electric vehicle market by leveraging TCMA’s existing manufacturing capabilities at the Serendah facility.
