Perrie Edwards balanced newlywed life with her music career by performing at the Isle of Wight Festival just six days after her wedding. The former Little Mix singer, 32, took to the stage on Friday, engaging a lively crowd despite admitting she was still recovering from wedding celebrations.
Edwards and Celtic footballer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, also 32, were married last Saturday in the Portuguese village of Estoi, near Faro. The couple, who have been together for nine years, recently expanded their family with the birth of daughter Alanis in January. Alanis is a younger sister to their four-year-old son, Axel.
Following the wedding, Edwards joked with fans about feeling under the weather, attributing her head cold to the "rowdy weekend" of nuptial celebrations. Alongside her personal milestones, she has been actively promoting her debut solo album, titled Perrie. Edwards initially gained prominence as a member of Little Mix, which made history as the first group to win The X Factor in 2011.
The Isle of Wight Festival, held in Newport, continues through the weekend with an eclectic lineup and a galactic glamour and space-themed fancy dress atmosphere. On Friday, performances also included Level 42 and The Kooks. The event is set to conclude on Saturday night with The Cure headlining the main stage.
