Jamie Brown, a man with a 23-year history of shoplifting and 362 recorded offences, has been charged with six additional theft-related offences in the North East of England. Brown’s extensive criminal record includes 221 theft convictions.

The most recent charges stem from multiple incidents caught on CCTV, during which Brown was seen stealing various items such as pork chops, lamb chops, butter, alcohol, and laundry products valued at more than £275. In one encounter at an Iceland store, Brown reportedly swore at staff while taking lamb chops.

Brown appeared via video link from prison at South East Northumberland Magistrates’ Court, where he pleaded guilty to the new charges. Sentencing was adjourned until September 24. At that hearing, prosecutors intend to apply for a Criminal Behaviour Order aimed at curbing his ongoing shoplifting activities.

In addition to his new charges, Brown currently owes courts over £6,600. He has expressed a desire to pursue rehabilitation efforts following his release.
