The Orioles’ offense remained mostly quiet until the sixth inning, when Gunnar Henderson hit a two-out home run, trimming the deficit to one run. Orioles manager Craig Albernaz emphasized the importance of fundamentals and focus, noting that player development "is not just the fundamentals on defense," but also involves execution in every area. Alonso’s performance served as a highlight amid a season marked by inconsistency for Baltimore.
With the win, the Orioles improved to 76-81, keeping their elimination number in the wild-card race at two, while the Blue Jays fell to 77-80.
