Pelaburan Hartanah Bhd (PHB) has expanded its Amanah Hartanah Bumiputra (AHB) fund by issuing 400 million new units, increasing the total units outstanding to 5.4 billion. The additional units are available for subscription exclusively to bumiputra investors.
This latest issuance reflects PHB’s ongoing effort to provide bumiputra investors with enhanced access to ownership in high-quality commercial properties located across Malaysia. Since its inception in 2010 with an initial size of one billion units, AHB has undergone six expansions, indicating steady growth over the years.
The recent unit increase was supported by value injections from two key assets: the recently acquired Aurelius Hospital in Alor Setar, Kedah, and a revaluation of the Maersk logistics building in Shah Alam. These properties contribute to the fund’s diversified portfolio of strategically positioned commercial real estate.
AHB is recognized as Malaysia’s first syariah-compliant property-based unit trust fund. It invests in prime commercial properties that generate rental income, aiming to deliver sustainable returns to unitholders. The fund imposes a minimum investment threshold of RM100 and caps individual holdings at a maximum of RM1 million.
Management of the fund is handled by PHB Asset Management Bhd. The expansion is seen as part of PHB’s broader mission to facilitate bumiputra participation in the real estate market through structured investment products.
