Phil&Ben Productions and PW Productions have announced a collaboration to launch a regional theatre tour of Frederick Knott’s classic thriller *Dial M for Murder*. The tour will begin at the Devonshire Park Theatre in Eastbourne on July 2.
The partnership aims to address challenges faced by regional venues in mounting drama productions, particularly the financial risks involved. Iain Gillie of PW Productions emphasized that the initiative prioritizes sustainability, collaboration, and audience development to support the continued presence of touring drama outside major cities.
“Many venues struggle not because of a lack of audience interest, but due to the economic uncertainties associated with staging productions,” Gillie said, highlighting the rationale behind supporting Phil&Ben’s approach.
Phil&Ben Productions underscored the importance of providing audiences in towns and smaller cities with access to high-quality live theatre. The production will feature Tanya-Loretta Dee as Margot Wendice and Pete Ashmore as Tony Wendice.
The tour represents an effort to broaden theatrical offerings beyond metropolitan areas, promoting access to classic and compelling works for a wider public. Audience members are encouraged to secure tickets for the upcoming performances.
