Philip Morris International (PMI) published its 2025 Value Report on September 16, detailing the company’s sustainability progress under its five-year roadmap and outlining strategic priorities for its next phase of transformation. The report highlights PMI’s performance in 2025 across multiple domains, including sustainability efforts, operational resilience, stakeholder engagement, and responsible business conduct.

Central to the publication is the introduction of PMI’s Value Plan 2030+, which targets six key areas: consumer and product health impact, circularity, climate change, nature and biodiversity, workforce welfare, and conditions for workers throughout its value chain. The company emphasized that these priorities will be integrated into its broader business strategy and long-term decision-making processes, while also noting that ongoing regulatory and market dynamics could influence future plans.

“Change in motion” serves as the report’s overarching theme, reflecting PMI’s perspective of its transformation as a continuous response to evolving markets, scientific advancements, and shifting stakeholder expectations. This edition marks the completion of the 2025 Roadmap launched in 2020, presenting an assessment of the company’s achievements relative to its defined objectives. It also outlines PMI’s methodologies for evaluating performance and maintaining transparent communication with its stakeholders.

For the Middle East and North Africa region, PMI Vice President Andrzej Dabrowski highlighted that the report connects the company’s global sustainability strategy with specific regional and local initiatives. These efforts involve engagement with consumers, business collaborators, and community groups.

The report adheres to recognized standards, referencing the Global Reporting Initiative’s 2021 Universal Standards and related topic-specific criteria. It also incorporates guidelines from the International Sustainability Standards Board, including SASB Standards, Integrated Thinking Principles, and the Integrated Reporting Framework.

Notably, PMI has shifted the nomenclature of its annual disclosure from the “Integrated Report” to the “Value Report” beginning with the 2025 cycle. This change is intended to emphasize the company’s focus on how it creates, preserves, and enhances value across short-, medium-, and long-term horizons.

Accompanying the report is a series of “Stories of Impact” published on PMI’s website, which provides examples of sustainability initiatives implemented in various markets. The full report and further details are available at www.pmi.com/sustainability.
