The Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants-Doha (PICPA-Doha) has launched three new study groups aimed at supporting Filipino accounting professionals in Qatar as they prepare for key certification exams. The initiative, officially launched at Embassy Suites by Hilton, includes study groups for the Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination (CPALE), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), and the newly introduced Certified in Strategy and Competitive Analysis (CSCA) certifications.

The orientation and launch event brought together approximately 25 participants, marking the start of CPA Study Group Batch-13, CMA Study Group Batch-21, and the inaugural CSCA Study Group Batch-1. The CPA study group, now in its 13th iteration, is led by PICPA-Doha Vice President Kentry Ayson, supported by various facilitators and officers committed to assisting examinees in their test preparations.

The addition of the CSCA study group represents an expansion of PICPA-Doha’s offerings beyond its established CPA and CMA programs. This development reflects the organization’s response to the evolving professional interests and career development needs of Filipino accounting practitioners residing in Qatar.

Beyond exam preparation, these study groups serve as platforms for peer learning, knowledge exchange, and mutual support, enhancing professional networking among members of the Filipino accounting community in the region.

In addition to the study groups, PICPA-Doha recently hosted a seminar on August 28 at Embassy Suites by Hilton, focusing on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) 18 and 20. The session, which ran from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., provided members with updated technical insights and a forum to stay informed on current developments in financial reporting.

PICPA-Doha continues to build on its commitment to professional development by offering diverse educational opportunities, facilitated by its volunteer officers and program leaders, to bolster the skills and knowledge of Filipino accounting professionals working in Qatar.
