Piers Morgan has publicly challenged claims made by Earl Spencer regarding a notable scoop published by the Daily Mirror. Speaking on his YouTube program, "Piers Morgan Uncensored," Morgan dismissed Spencer’s assertions as false and easily disproven.

Morgan, who served as editor of the Daily Mirror from 1995 to 2004, addressed allegations related to the publication of photographs taken at a gym. He stated that at the time those images emerged, he was focused on writing a showbiz column for The Sun, a rival publication, and therefore was far removed from any involvement in the Mirror’s exclusive coverage.

In addition, Morgan disputed Spencer’s depiction of his relationship with Diana, Princess of Wales. He noted that Spencer was living in South Africa and estranged from Diana when she died nearly 30 years ago in a car crash. Morgan said that during his tenure as editor, he had met Diana at Kensington Palace alongside Prince William and that their communication included phone calls and story discussions, suggesting he may have been in more frequent contact with her than Spencer himself.

Morgan questioned the credibility of Spencer’s book by highlighting what he described as fundamental factual errors. "If Earl Spencer can be so incredibly, defamatorially wrong about such basic facts involving me, well, why should we believe anything else he puts in this book?" Morgan remarked.

The disagreement centers on historical accounts related to Diana’s life and the media coverage following her death. Spencer’s book has prompted varied reactions, with Morgan’s rebuttal underscoring ongoing debates regarding the accuracy of personal recollections about the late princess.
