Pioneer Heat Holdings Bhd, a mechanical engineering services provider, is pursuing larger and more complex projects within the oil and gas (O&G) and petrochemical industries following its debut on Bursa Malaysia’s ACE Market. The company, which began trading on September 17, opened at 25.5 sen per share, slightly above its initial public offering (IPO) price of 25 sen.
By the close of trading, Pioneer Heat’s shares had risen 20% from the IPO price, closing at 30 sen with a total of 80.18 million shares exchanged. The strong market reception reflects investor confidence in the company’s growth prospects in its core sectors.
Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director Wong Wei Ken stated during a virtual press conference that the O&G and petrochemical sectors are expected to continue as the primary drivers of growth for the group. He noted that Pioneer Heat is actively engaged in tendering for several projects, with anticipated contract awards targeted for the third and fourth quarters of the year.
While Wong declined to disclose specific project details, he emphasized the company’s strategy to secure more substantial contracts that will elevate its market position. To support this expansion, Pioneer Heat plans to invest in new facilities and enhance its technical capabilities, which are intended to contribute to increased revenue streams. However, the company has not specified quantitative revenue targets at this stage.
Pioneer Heat’s move to seek larger-scale opportunities aligns with its broader objective to capitalize on the ongoing demand in the O&G and petrochemical sectors. The company’s listing on the ACE Market provides it with access to capital to pursue these growth initiatives amid evolving industry dynamics.
