Pakistan International School Qatar’s Girls’ Wing observed the International Day of the Girl Child and Mental Health Awareness Day with a series of student-led initiatives aimed at fostering empowerment, leadership, and emotional well-being among its students. The activities took place on October 11, 2026, within the school community in Doha.

The observances were designed to encourage girls to articulate their aspirations, raise awareness about mental health, and promote a supportive, inclusive environment. Student Council leaders facilitated discussions where participants shared their ambitions and delivered messages emphasizing the importance of giving girls opportunities to develop confidence and leadership skills. The initiative sought to underscore that every girl's voice and aspiration deserve recognition and support.

In conjunction with these efforts, the Girls’ Wing also launched a Mental Health Awareness campaign led by senior students, including the Head Girl, Deputy Head Girl, and Senior Prefect, under the supervision of the Vice Principal. This campaign involved peer-led awareness sessions conducted in junior classrooms, focusing on the significance of mental well-being, stress management, self-care, empathy, and kindness. Through these interactions, younger students were encouraged to identify and understand their emotions and the importance of supporting their peers.

Complementing the educational sessions, Grade 11 students created a range of awareness materials such as posters, badges, and ribbons designed to reinforce key messages about mental health and nurture a caring school culture. These creative efforts aimed to make mental health discussions more visible and accessible to the entire student body.

The activities highlighted the role of open dialogue in promoting emotional health and demonstrated how student leadership can contribute to cultivating an environment where students feel respected and supported. The observances concluded with two central messages: “Dream Big. Lead Boldly. Inspire Change!” and “Healthy Minds. Kind Hearts. Stronger Together!”—phrases encapsulating the dual themes of empowerment and well-being central to the day’s events.
