Google has launched the Pixel 11 Pro, a premium smartphone that emphasizes advanced camera capabilities and extensive customization options. Priced from £1,079 (€1,199/$1,099/A$1,849), the new model offers upgrades in photography and artificial intelligence while maintaining a compact and user-friendly design.
The Pixel 11 Pro retains a familiar look with a 6.3-inch OLED display, polished aluminum and glass body, and the characteristic prominent camera bar on the back. Slightly smaller and lighter than its predecessor, the device measures 152.7 x 71.9 x 8.4mm and weighs 204 grams. Notably, Google replaced the temperature sensor found in previous Pro models with a multicolored HiLight LED, functioning both as a camera flash and a notification light; however, the LED supports only limited notification types.
Under the hood, the Pixel 11 Pro is powered by Google’s Tensor G6 chip paired with either 12GB or 16GB of RAM, depending on storage options ranging from 256GB to 1TB. Although its processor may not match the peak gaming performance of some Qualcomm or Apple counterparts, it delivers smooth responsiveness for everyday use. The device runs Android 17 and will receive software and security updates through August 2033, positioning it as one of the longest-supported smartphones on the market.
Battery life approaches two days under moderate use, with approximately seven hours of screen-on time across varied activities such as web browsing and messaging over Wi-Fi and 5G networks. The front-facing camera has also been upgraded to 42 megapixels. Users benefit from enhancements like Instant Night Sight, which accelerates low-light photography by up to 4.5 times, enabling clearer images in dark conditions. The telephoto lens supports up to 10x cropped zoom and extends up to 120x digital magnification, combining traditional zoom with AI-driven image restoration to enhance detail.
Google has introduced new creative tools such as Camera Looks, which allows users to tailor photo processing styles from more natural to artistic effects, including retro digital and film-like textures. The phone also features Magic Capture, a one-button mode for spontaneous photo and video recording suitable for events.
Video capabilities include advanced stabilization and a “Creator Suite” designed for streamlined editing, storyboarding, and social media-ready framing. AI is deeply integrated throughout the system, with local features such as the Rambler voice dictation tool that converts rough speech into polished text and proactive assistance that suggests relevant actions in supported applications.
On the sustainability front, the Pixel 11 Pro incorporates 31% recycled materials by weight and offers extensive repairability options, supported by Google’s provision of manuals and spare parts. The battery is designed to retain at least 80% capacity after 1,000 full charging cycles, and Google provides free recycling services for old devices.
Compared to other current flagship models, the Pixel 11 Pro is competitively priced in the premium range, aligning with devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra and iPhone 17 Pro. While the device does not represent a major overhaul from the previous generation, it refines and combines Google’s key hardware, camera, and AI advancements into a smaller, more portable form. Its enhanced photography tools, sustained battery life, and long-term software support make it a strong contender for users seeking a high-end compact smartphone experience.
