The Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) and the Economic Reporters' Forum (ERF) have entered into a memorandum of understanding aimed at advancing evidence-based journalism on economic and development issues in Bangladesh. The agreement was signed on Wednesday at PKSF Bhaban-1 by AKM Nuruzzaman, senior general manager of PKSF, and Abul Kashem, general secretary of ERF, representing their respective organizations.

The signing ceremony was attended by key figures including PKSF Chairman Zakir Ahmed Khan, Managing Director Md Fazlul Kader, ERF President Doulat Akter Mala, as well as other representatives from both institutions.

The partnership will focus on organizing joint training programs, workshops, and orientation sessions designed to enhance the professional skills and knowledge of ERF members on critical development topics. These include sustainable livelihoods, social protection, climate resilience, and inclusive development.

In addition, the agreement facilitates greater access for ERF members to information related to PKSF’s initiatives, research, studies, innovations, and publications. This exchange aims to deepen journalists’ understanding of development efforts and emerging challenges in Bangladesh.

An integral part of the collaboration involves organizing media visits for ERF members to select PKSF programs and field-level interventions. These visits are intended to provide journalists with direct exposure to ground-level development activities and local livelihoods, fostering more informed and nuanced reporting on the country’s development landscape.
