The 22nd Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition (DJWE) opened on September 28, 2026, at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC) under the patronage of HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani. The event was inaugurated by Sheikh Mohammed, who toured the exhibition to view featured pieces from Qatari and international companies, including contemporary jewellery and watches, alongside rare gemstones.
The opening ceremony was attended by several high-profile figures, including HE the Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, various ministers, members of the diplomatic corps, senior officials, business leaders, and representatives of participating firms.
Owned by Qatar Tourism and organised by the Qatar Business Events Corporation (QBEC) in collaboration with Visit Qatar, the exposition has grown over more than two decades into a prominent global platform showcasing heritage, creativity, and innovation in the jewellery and watch industries. This year’s edition presents over 500 brands from 30 countries, represented by 49 exhibitors. Notable regional names such as Al Fardan Jewellery, Al Majed Jewellery, and Ali Bin Ali Luxury are joined by international houses, emerging Qatari designers, and new participants from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, including Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
The exhibition features dedicated pavilions for Turkish, Indian, and Qatari designers. The Qatari Designers Pavilion, supported by Scale7—a creative industries hub that promotes startups and entrepreneurs—spotlights six local talents, including Abdullah Yousuf al-Fakhroo of Midad Jewellery and Maisa Jasim Buhejji of M Royal Collection. This emphasis on local creativity aligns with Qatar’s broader vision to diversify its economy and strengthen its tourism sector through distinctive, high-value experiences.
A major addition to the 2026 edition is the participation of Christie’s auction house, which is contributing to the event through a range of educational sessions and guided experiences within the newly established DJWE Studio. This programme will provide workshops, panel discussions, masterclasses, and mentorship opportunities focused on design trends, market insights, and collecting behaviours. Sophie Stevens, Christie’s Head of Jewels Middle East, will lead a public panel dedicated to Qatari jewellery designers.
Further educational initiatives include a five-part entrepreneurship series delivered by Qatar Development Bank through Scale7, covering topics such as funding, branding, and market positioning, along with sessions tailored for Qatar’s local design community. Visit Qatar and the Picasso Institute will host additional masterclasses and influencer talks on high jewellery design and regional gemology.
The DJWE reflects Qatar’s ongoing commitment to enhancing its global status as a destination for specialised events, supporting creative industries, and fostering international commercial and cultural exchanges in line with Qatar National Vision 2030. The exhibition runs for a week, offering networking and business development opportunities for participants and visitors alike.
