Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, met with Lebanese Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam on Monday during the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral relations and exploring opportunities to strengthen cooperation between Qatar and Lebanon.

Discussions included a review of recent regional developments and ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions and promoting security and stability across the Middle East. Both leaders emphasized the importance of continued coordination to de-escalate conflicts and support peace initiatives in the region.

Sheikh Mohammed reiterated Qatar’s commitment to diplomatic solutions that guarantee freedom of maritime navigation and facilitate comprehensive agreements conducive to lasting peace. Additionally, he reaffirmed Qatar’s support for Lebanon’s sovereignty, stability, and territorial integrity, underscoring the country’s solidarity with the Lebanese people amid ongoing challenges.

The meeting highlighted shared priorities, including advancing dialogue and collaboration to address regional security concerns, with both officials expressing optimism about the prospects for constructive engagement moving forward.
