Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, took part in the “Global Perspectives: In Doha” event held Thursday at the Rosewood Doha. The gathering was organised by CNN in partnership with Media City Qatar and marked the event’s first iteration in the Middle East and Gulf region.
In his opening remarks, Sheikh Mohammed highlighted the critical role of dialogue amid rapidly evolving global dynamics and increasingly interconnected challenges. He emphasised that Qatar views dialogue as essential, even during periods of disagreement, to foster mutual understanding and identify common ground.
The prime minister welcomed participants and guests hailing from various regions and sectors, expressing appreciation to CNN and Media City Qatar for facilitating the forum. He underscored the event’s coverage of diverse themes spanning business, technology, media, and culture, expressing optimism that these discussions would spark fresh ideas and promote a constructive exchange of knowledge and expertise.
A post on Sheikh Mohammed’s official X account reiterated this stance, stating support for such forums that unite cultures and perspectives and open pathways for constructive discourse on pressing global issues.
The event convened a distinguished group of political leaders, business executives, and visionaries to address a broad array of topics. Discussions included the global frameworks underpinning economic functionality and connectivity, the influence of high-profile figures in shaping public opinion, and the importance of human intuition, creativity, leadership, and adaptability amid accelerating technological change and growing dependence on automated systems.
