The Papua New Guinea Chiefs have appointed Dan Talintyre as their new general manager of communications and media, further strengthening their off-field operations. Talintyre brings extensive experience from his previous roles with the Wests Tigers and the National Rugby League (NRL).

Talintyre spent eight seasons with the Wests Tigers, where he held various media positions, and subsequently served for nearly three years as a content lead with the NRL. During his time at the Tigers, he worked alongside Chiefs coach Willie Peters, establishing a professional relationship that will continue in his new position.

This newly created role will be based both in Australia and Papua New Guinea, reflecting the Chiefs’ aim to expand their brand and enhance media engagement across both countries. Talintyre will be responsible not only for developing the team’s profile in Australian and PNG media outlets but also for contributing to the senior leadership within the organization.

The move is part of the Chiefs’ broader strategy to build a stronger off-field structure to support the team’s continued growth and presence in the rugby league community.
