Polish authorities have initiated a terrorism investigation following a fire at a drone manufacturing facility in central Poland. The incident occurred early Monday at the WB Electronics factory in Skarzysko-Kamienna, located approximately 150 kilometers south of Warsaw. Firefighters took about two hours to bring the blaze under control, and no injuries have been reported.

Prosecutors indicated that the fire was deliberately set, describing it as an act potentially directed by a foreign intelligence service against the Republic of Poland. The investigation opened includes charges related to participation in activities on behalf of a foreign intelligence entity and a terrorist offence involving the intentional ignition of a fire using a device containing flammable materials on the premises of the drone factory.

The ABW, Poland’s Internal Security Agency, has joined local police in probing the incident. A spokesman for the intelligence coordinator confirmed the presence of ABW officers at the site but noted that it was still too early to firmly establish whether the fire constituted an act of sabotage.

WB Electronics is known for its work in defence technology, including the production of combat drones, making the factory a sensitive site relating to national security. Authorities have not released further details about suspects or the motive behind the fire as the inquiry continues. The investigation remains ongoing with officials working to determine the full circumstances and implications of the event.
