Poland is actively promoting investment opportunities to Qatari investors in its growing tourism and hospitality sector, highlighting prospects in premium hotels, serviced apartments, wellness resorts, and mixed-use developments, according to Tomasz Sadzinski, Poland’s ambassador to Qatar. Speaking about efforts to attract Qatari business leaders and family offices, Sadzinski emphasized Poland’s stable economic environment, investor-friendly policies, and increasing demand for high-quality tourism services.
Tourism and hospitality currently employ nearly 150,000 people in Poland and contribute close to 5% of the country’s GDP. The sector’s appeal to international investors is further underlined by Warsaw’s recent ranking as the third most attractive European city for real estate investment in the CBRE European Real Estate Survey 2026, ahead of cities such as Paris, Barcelona, and Milan.
Sadzinski identified premium hotels, lifestyle hospitality projects, wellness and spa facilities, and mixed-use tourism infrastructure developments as key areas offering strong growth potential. He noted that increasing demand for quality accommodations and year-round experiential travel underpins these opportunities.
Sustainability is a growing priority in Poland’s tourism strategy, offering additional prospects for collaboration with Qatari businesses. Through initiatives like the Polish Investment Zone and various national and regional development programs, the country encourages projects that integrate economic development with environmental responsibility and energy efficiency. These efforts are supported by national incentives and European Union funding, providing a solid foundation for foreign investment partnerships.
Beyond investment, tourism serves as a vital component of the bilateral relationship between Poland and Qatar, complementing existing political, economic, and energy cooperation. The establishment of a direct air link between Doha and Warsaw has facilitated increased leisure and business travel, boosting Poland’s profile as a year-round destination for Qatari travelers.
Cooperation between tourism stakeholders from both countries has expanded through participation in international travel exhibitions, especially the Qatar Travel Mart. Poland’s representation at these events includes the Polish Tourism Organisation, regional tourism bodies, and private sector companies. For the 2026 Qatar Travel Mart, Poland is aiming to involve additional regions to showcase the country’s diverse tourism offerings.
Efforts to attract more visitors from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) have focused on promoting Poland as a safe, accessible destination for families and female travelers. Familiarization visits and collaboration between tour operators further support this goal.
To better accommodate Muslim tourists, including those from Qatar, Poland is enhancing halal-friendly services and expanding facilities such as prayer rooms and mosques in major cities including Warsaw, Krakow, Lodz, Gdansk, and Poznan. These measures respond to both the growing number of Arab visitors and the needs of approximately 150,000 Muslims residing in Poland.
Ambassador Sadzinski expressed commitment to strengthening tourism ties through ongoing participation in events like the Qatar Travel Mart and continued cooperation among Polish and Qatari tourism authorities and businesses. He stated that the objective is not only to increase visitor numbers but also to foster mutual understanding, deepen people-to-people connections, and build investment relationships that reinforce the strong ties between Poland and Qatar.
