Police have arrested three individuals during raids targeting suspected illegal gambling establishments in South Yorkshire. The operations took place in Doncaster and Sheffield, where authorities seized tens of thousands of pounds in cash.

According to South Yorkshire Police, the three suspects were detained on different allegations. One was arrested on suspicion of immigration offences, another for possession of a bladed article, and the third in connection with gambling-related offences.

Chief Superintendent Jamie Henderson commented on the raids, emphasizing the broader issues linked to such gambling dens. He noted that these venues often involve exploitation, violence, and are connected to entrenched organised crime networks.
