Police in Cumilla have submitted a charge-sheet in the murder case of 13-year-old Ishyat Shahriar Opratim, the only child of Dr. Nahida Begum, a faculty member at Cumilla University. The charge-sheet was finalized on October 20 and submitted to the court on October 23, according to Additional Superintendent of Police Lutfor Rahman.

The document states that Opratim was fatally struck on the head with a bamboo stick after resisting an attempt to snatch his mobile phone. Three individuals have been formally charged with the killing: Saiful Islam Tuhin, Mozaffar Hossain Fahad, and Kamrul Hasan. Additionally, a fourth person named Siam has been implicated in orchestrating the murder plot.

Police recovered Opratim’s body and reviewed CCTV footage from nearby areas, which helped identify Tuhin as being present with the victim at the time of the crime. He was arrested and interrogated during the investigation.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to uncover any further details related to the case.
