A 32-year-old polo player died following an accident during a tournament at Cowdray Park in West Sussex. Harry Revell was injured during a match at the Cowdray Estate in Ambersham on September 11. Emergency services, including the Air Ambulance Charity Kent Surrey Sussex, airlifted him to hospital at approximately 5:45 p.m. He later succumbed to his injuries.

Cowdray Park Polo Club described Revell as a “much-loved and respected member of the polo community.” In response to the incident, the club postponed a scheduled match on Sunday and canceled the Farewell Cup tournament as a mark of respect.

The club’s statement noted that Revell was unconscious immediately following the accident and received continuous care until his death. Revell had married his wife, Lily, in September 2023, a milestone they recently marked on social media.

The Three Moles polo team, based in Petworth near Cowdray Park, expressed condolences, recalling Revell as someone who brought “fun, laughter and happiness” to many people. The circumstances surrounding the accident have not been disclosed.
