Lauren Bennett, the British singer known for her featured vocals on the global hit "Party Rock Anthem" by LMFAO and as a member of the pop group G.R.L., has died at the age of 37. The news of her passing was announced on Monday by fellow G.R.L. members Emmalyn Estrada, Natasha Slayton, and Paula van Oppen via social media, expressing profound sorrow and highlighting Bennett’s positive impact on those around her. The cause of death has not been disclosed.

Bennett first gained public attention in 2006 when she competed on the U.K. edition of “The X Factor.” Although she did not reach the live shows, she went on to join Paradiso Girls in 2007, a group formed by Pussycat Dolls founder Robin Antin. Paradiso Girls released the single "Patron Tequila" featuring Lil Jon and Eve in 2009 before disbanding in 2010 without releasing a full album.

Her breakthrough came in 2011 through collaboration with LMFAO on "Party Rock Anthem," which dominated the Billboard Hot 100 chart for six weeks and achieved worldwide acclaim. The track was later ranked the second top Hot 100 song of the 2010s decade by Billboard, following "Uptown Funk" by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars.

In 2012, Bennett reunited with Antin to form G.R.L. alongside Estrada, Slayton, Paula van Oppen, and Simone Battle. The group made its debut with the song "Vacation" on the “Smurfs 2” soundtrack in 2013 and collaborated with Pitbull on the 2014 single "Wild Wild Love." That same year, G.R.L. released their lead single "Ugly Heart." The group faced tragedy in September 2014 when founding member Simone Battle died by suicide, leading to the band’s breakup the following year. G.R.L. later reformed in 2016 as a trio, including Bennett, Slayton, and new member Jazzy Mejia.

Bennett was also a mother; she and her partner, actor Kenny Wormald, who is best known for his role in “Footloose,” welcomed a daughter named Harlow in 2019. Wormald frequently shared affectionate posts about Bennett on social media.

Music producer and longtime friend Josh Stevens, who worked closely with Bennett on LMFAO’s album “Sorry for Party Rocking,” paid tribute to the singer, recalling their experiences touring together and the bond they shared as their children share the same birthday. He described her as a “true legend” and expressed deep sadness over her passing.

Lauren Bennett’s contributions to pop and dance music left a lasting impression on fans and colleagues alike, with many mourning the loss of a vibrant talent taken too soon.
