British singer Charli XCX has canceled a scheduled performance at the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona, citing illness as the reason for the cancellation. The 34-year-old artist, whose real name is Charlotte Aitchison, announced the cancellation shortly after revealing a new two-year partnership with Absolut Vodka.
Charli XCX took to Instagram to inform fans that she had been struggling with sickness during her current run of shows and had lost her voice, preventing her from performing. “I put absolutely everything I have into my performances, both physically and emotionally, and it breaks me that I can’t be with you tomorrow,” she wrote.
The cancellation followed a night out at a party held at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles on Saturday. Charli attended the event after a concert nearby, arriving around 12:30 a.m. and sharing videos on social media of herself singing with a drink in hand. Some fans expressed disappointment and questioned the timing of the cancellation, suggesting that partying may have contributed to her inability to perform.
Despite the criticism, Charli XCX expressed hope to return to the stage for the final North American tour date in Las Vegas. Looking ahead, she is scheduled to perform in Dublin, Manchester, Glasgow, and London in February as part of her tour supporting her album *Music, Fashion, Film*, which reached No. 1 in August.
Charli XCX has previously addressed public perceptions of her lifestyle, emphasizing she balances her career with a vibrant social life. “People think I’m this person who parties every day. And that’s part of it, but also I’m a businesswoman. I’m definitely working more than I’m partying,” she stated in past interviews.
