Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy has accused former podcast hosts Alex Cooper and Sofia Franklyn of planning to break their contracts with the company by making false sexual harassment allegations. In his recently published memoir, “Cancel Me If You Can,” Portnoy claims the two women altered their stance after meeting with YouTube personality Logan Paul in April 2019.

According to Portnoy, there had been no indication that Cooper and Franklyn were dissatisfied with their arrangement until their introduction to Paul. He asserts the pair sought a contract that would grant them a million dollars annually, the ability to sell their own advertising, ownership of the intellectual property linked to their podcast Call Her Daddy, and 90 percent of merchandise sales related to the show.

Portnoy states he responded with what he describes as the most generous offer in Barstool’s history. Despite this, he was informed by Cooper that while she personally supported the proposal, Franklyn was unwilling to accept the terms. Portnoy further alleges that Cooper confided in him a plan to falsely claim sexual harassment at Barstool, intended as leverage should he refuse to transfer the intellectual property rights.

Representatives for Logan Paul, Alex Cooper, and Sofia Franklyn did not respond to requests for comment.
